First impressions count so when it comes to promoting your digital brand and reaching your targeted audience I can create a website that will effectively do just that. By choosing the right graphics, colour schemes, fonts and layouts for your site, incorporating any existing brand logo and colour scheme you may have, I will design a unique website composition for your review.
The success of your website depends on having a clear content strategy i.e. the website copy and imagery that you supply. By focusing on what your brand vision and goals are for your website, paired with my input and experience we will together create the best site for your business.
Once agreed upon the design and content of the site you will receive a written specification, which you will review and agree before the project starts.

Having discovered WordPress some 12 years ago I have been building all my websites using the content management system (CMS) platform since then and have never looked back. I find it perfect for my clients needs and they enjoy it’s user-friendly interface which requires no coding knowledge to update their website content, if you can edit a Word doc or check your email, you can handle using WordPress.
Using the WordPress platform to build websites on has many benefits for the client, the user and the web developer, it’s SEO-friendly (in fact 99% friendly according to Google), mobile-friendly and designer-friendly and can be used to build anything from a personal website to a full blown e-commerce store. Today you will find WordPress in use on millions of sites including many large organisations such as Sony Music, BBC, eBay, Samsung, Nokia, CNN to name a few.
What exactly is a ‘responsive’ or ‘Mobile friendly’ site? it’s a site that adapts its layout to fit the viewable area of the device being used, as can be seen in the example diagram below. Making the content accessible and easy to view across the many different device types and screen sizes is one of my main priorities when designing a site, so users will get a great website experience on whichever device they are viewing it on.
Not all functionality works on both a desktop version and a mobile version of a website, for example menus and buttons need to be adjusted to work on the different devices. Also there are the added benefits of the touch screen that can be put to good use, an example would be an image banner on a mobile or tablet that a user can quickly swipe through using their fingers, something you cannot do with a mouse.
Blogging and social sharing about your business by creating good quality live content not only keeps your audience up to date with your latest developments, but it also gives you feedback as to how your customers engage with you. For example if your users like, comment or share a blog or social media post created by you, chances are they are interested in knowing more and spreading the word to others, a great bit of instant online marketing for you.
I can help you achieve this using various tools to get you started with:
One of the many advantages of having a website built with WordPress is the amount of flexibility it has when it comes to search engine optimisation. With all my website builds come a top SEO plugin included that lets you optimise keywords, search engine descriptions, metatags, page titles and much more for each and every individual page of the site.
Having a website that contains correctly structured code, is fast loading and mobile friendly, is also going to help you get your site up the search engine rankings. The truth is there is no silver bullet for getting to top of Google, but by putting all the above into practice and spending some time on getting the right keywords, you should be able to get a good page ranking for your business in no time at all.
I can set up Google Analytics to monitor the traffic coming to your website and also offer a service to list your business on Google My Business, which is an amazing marketing opportunity for small businesses and enables you to appear in local search results and is essential for local SEO.
While security measures are built into WordPress out of the box, it can be susceptible to infectious malware, similar to those on Windows PCs and Android devices. And of course there is also the chance of human error taking down your site.
By keeping WordPress and plugins up to date, hardening the security of your site and making regular backups, your website can be safeguarded should any worst-case scenario arise. While it’s certainly true that you might never encounter a hacker it’s still best to be prepared.
I offer a basic WordPress care plan that is ideal for those that have little time of their own to maintain and manage software updates, regular changes on the site and retain off-site backups. Six months free support is provided for all my new WordPress website projects.
When you’re running a business time is money and I understand that you might not always have time to update your website content e.g. adding news/blog posts, uploading web ready images, products and page edits. This is where my content updates package can help.
